William Friedkin, the Oscar-winning director of two of the most iconic films of all time, The French Connection and The Exorcist, passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 87. Sherry Lansing is a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, not only as an American philanthropist but also as a distinguished retired film studio executive. Throughout her illustrious career, she has held prominent positions, including Chairwoman of the Universal Music Group board of directors, Chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures, and President of Production at 20th Century Fox. Between 1999 and 2022, she also served on the University of California Board of Regents.

Lansing’s remarkable journey has been marked by numerous groundbreaking achievements. In 2005, she made history as the first female movie studio head to leave her hand and footprints at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater. Her influence extended beyond Hollywood, as she was named one of the 30 most powerful women in America by Ladies Home Journal in 2001. She also earned the top spot on The Hollywood Reporter’s Power 100 list multiple times, underlining her enduring impact on the industry.
