Rapper 50 Cent under investigation after allegedly injuring fan with microphone

Rapper 50 Cent is under investigation after allegedly injuring a fan with a microphone during a concert in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The 48-year-old rapper, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, was performing at the Crypto.com Arena as part of his Final Lap Tour when he threw two microphones into the crowd.

According to TMZ, the second microphone struck Power 106’s midday deejay Bryhana Monegain, leaving her with a forehead laceration.

Photos published by the tabloid show Monegain with a sizeable gash on her forehead and remnants of dried blood covering her face.

The radio DJ has not publicly commented on the incident herself. However, according to TMZ, Monegian has filed a criminal battery lawsuit against 50 Cent.

Footage of the incident circulating on social media shows the “Candy Shop” rapper flicking the first microphone off the side of the stage while fellow rapper YG performs for the audience.

He is then handed a second microphone, which also doesn’t appear to work. He then hurls the second microphone into the crowd, too.

It is unclear why 50 Cent threw the microphones into the crowd. However, the incident is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.

If convicted of battery, 50 Cent could face up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.

This is not the first time that 50 Cent has been accused of violence. In 2009, he was sued by a man who claimed that the rapper punched him in the face at a nightclub. The case was settled out of court.

50 Cent is one of the best-selling rappers of all time, with over 30 million albums sold worldwide. He is also a successful actor and entrepreneur.
