Tony Gustavsson is a Swedish football manager who has made a name for himself in women’s football. He is the current head coach of the Australia women’s national team, the Matildas, and he has led them to their highest ever finishes at the Olympic Games and the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Gustavsson began his managerial career in men’s football, but he quickly switched to women’s football and made a big impact. He led Tyresö FF to the 2014 UEFA Women’s Champions League Final, and he also helped the United States women’s national team to two world championships.

Gustavsson joined the Matildas in 2020, and he quickly turned them into a force to be reckoned with. He led them to a fourth-place finish at the 2020 Summer Olympics, which was the joint best ever finish by an Australian football team, male or female.

At the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Matildas reached the semifinals for the first time, and they finished in fourth place. This was the highest finish by an Australian football team at a FIFA World Cup, male or female.

Gustavsson is a highly respected coach, and he is known for his attacking style of play. He is also a great motivator, and he has helped the Matildas to believe in themselves and achieve great things.
