
Kurt Busch is an American professional stock car racing driver who last competed full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2022, driving the No. 45 Toyota Camry TRD for 23XI Racing. He is the 2004 NASCAR Cup Series champion and the 2017 Daytona 500 winner. He is the older brother of two-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch.
Busch was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, on August 4, 1978. He began his racing career in karts at the age of six. He moved up to the Dwarf car racing series in 1993 and won the championship in 1995. In 1996, he moved to the Late Model Stock Car racing series and won the championship in 1998.
Busch made his NASCAR debut in the Craftsman Truck Series in 1999. He won his first race in the series in 2000. He moved to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2000 and won his first race in the series in 2002. He won the Cup Series championship in 2004.
Busch has also won the Daytona 500 once, in 2017. He has also won 33 other Cup Series races. He is one of only 36 drivers to have won at least 30 Cup Series races.
