Jim Cantore is an American meteorologist and on-air personality for The Weather Channel. He was born on February 16, 1964, in Beacon Falls, Connecticut, and raised in White River Junction, Vermont.
Cantore graduated from Lyndon State College in Vermont with a degree in meteorology in 1986. He began his career as a weather forecaster for a local television station in New York City.
In 1986, he joined The Weather Channel as a meteorologist and storm chaser. He has since become one of the network’s most popular personalities, known for his energetic and enthusiastic reporting on severe weather events.
