
On May 18, 2018, tragedy struck when James Stone Jr., a 36-year-old man, was found dead with gunshot wounds in his trailer on Stanavage Road, Colchester.
The Connecticut State Police recently announced that they have doubled the reward to $50,000 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual or persons responsible for his death.

James Stone Jr.’s body was discovered in his trailer located on the Golden Hill Paugusett Reservation. The initial reward amount was set at $25,000 in January 2022.
The Stone family, along with the Colchester community, remains deeply affected by the loss, and the police are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
In his life, James Stone Jr. achieved an Associate Degree from Three Rivers Community College, attended Bacon Academy, and worked as a carpenter in various fields.
He was an enthusiastic music lover who played the drums and enjoyed multiple activities like fishing, snowboarding, tennis, scuba diving, bowling, and swimming at Red Cedar Lake in Lebanon.
He was remembered as a kind and generous individual always ready to lend a helping hand.
