Alex Collins, a former NFL running back who played for the Seattle Seahawks, Baltimore Ravens, and Memphis Showboats, died on August 14, 2023, at the age of 28.
Collins was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on August 26, 1994. He played football, basketball, lacrosse, and track at South Plantation High School in Fort Lauderdale. He went on to play college football at the University of Arkansas, where he was named the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2013.
Collins was drafted by the Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He played for the Seahawks for one season before being traded to the Ravens. He played for the Ravens for two seasons before being released in 2019. He then signed with the Seahawks again in 2020, but was released after one season. In 2023, he signed with the Memphis Showboats of the USFL.
